VISUAL ART
A subject where imagination and creativity come into play. Drawing is a central activity. However, the new Junior Cycle also hopes for students to achieve ‘art language’, an appreciation of art culture, design, and there is also an incorporation of media. Recommended for Art college, architecture, graphic design, photography and print media, marketing, product design.
ENGINEERING
Engineering aims to develop the students' awareness of engineering processes while developing the necessary subject knowledge with the disciplinary skills to engineer products. Recommended for Engineering Careers, Architecture, Apprenticeships and much more. Leads into Engineering for the Leaving Certificate.
GRAPHICS
This subject involves solving, drawing and sketching graphical problems on paper and computer. • Links with art and mathematics and other practical subjects. • Allows for the development of creative and logical thinking. • Very useful for pursing careers in architecture or engineering. • Leads to DCG for LC.
MUSIC
Music can provide an environment for the student where they are safe to explore, experiment and be allowed to take creative risks. The subject can engage students in learning that engages, inspires, challenges, provokes, exhilarates, and liberates. Students are encouraged to collaborate in the formation of ideas and the presentation of these ideas and to critically reflect on their work and the work of others.

WOOD TECHNOLOGY
Wood Technology, formally known as Woodwork is a practical, hands-on subject, which gives students a good foundation in woodworking and graphical skills to enable students design and manufacture wooden items.
