Green Schools

Green-Schools is Ireland’s leading environmental management and education programme for schools. 
It aims to promote long-term, whole-school action for the environment. Green-Schools is a student-led programme with involvement from the wider community. The programme is operated and coordinated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce (FEE member for Ireland).
Our fantastic S.N.A. Karen Harte founded the programme a number of years ago in school. At present the school has a committee which are involved in a number of initiatives throughout the year.
The school has 4 flags at present each obtained under a different theme:

1.Litter and waste
2.Energy
3.Water
4.Travel

Next year the school will seek to add a 5th flag under the biodiversity.
