Within our small school community, we have already raised over €35,000 towards the cost of this project but we still have a way to go to meet our target. We’d love your help to fund this ambitious project that will benefit our current and future pupils and help us recruit and retain more young boys.
Here are just four of the ways you can come on-board:
We will shortly launch an online crowd-funding campaign named Mount Sion Sports Yards 2015 and hope this will reach those who care about the school and about exercise for young people. We’re particularly keen to reconnect with Mount Sion past pupils near and far. Wherever life has taken you, you are still part of the Mount Sion community and we value your loyalty to the school.
Cycle for Mount Sion
On Sunday, March 29, 2015, we are hosting a cycling event for our community. There are two routes to choose from, depending on your fitness and energy levels – the first is a 100km cycle from our home in Mount Sion to the home place of Edmund Rice, Callan, Co Kilkenny and returning to Waterford via Carrick-on-Suir. The second route is a 20km round-trip from Waterford to Tramore. Entry fees are €15 for adults and €10 for students.
Organise your own Mount Sion fundraiser
If you have a bright idea for how to raise funds among your family, friends or workmates, we’d be delighted to hear from you and to provide information about our yards project to help with your efforts.
Perhaps your workplace has a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or volunteering programme that might be able to assist us? Alternatively, if you are a business owner or manager that’s interested in hearing more about our project, please contact the school on 051 377378 and speak to our principal, John McArdle or Deputy Principal, Bill Doherty.
