Ice Bucket Challenge (Sept. ’14)

Some of the staff and students of Mount Sion CBS Secondary School recently rose to the “Ice Bucket Challenge” in aid of Motor Neuron Disease treatment. In an unusual take on the challenge, a group of pupils representing all years gathered on the famous steps in front of the Monastery to take part in the event.
A team of pupils had worked tirelessly to fill fifty buckets with water and ice but it was worth all the effort. Pupils from each year poured iced water on pupils from the next year in a cascade effect. A group of brave teachers sat at the bottom of steps – they received the greatest drenching and loudest applause of the event!
Over two hundred euros was raised for this very worthy cause and great fun was had by all. A video clip of the challenge can be viewed on our school ‘Facebook’ page – Mount Sion CBS Secondary School.
